TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR FIFTH ANNUAL SPI INVITATIONAL
As Island gears up for record fan attendance, officials say ‘make reservations now'

(South Padre Island) Oct. 8, 2009 -- Tickets are now available online for the 5th Annual South Padre Island Invitational Basketball Tournament slated for Nov. 27-28 at the SPI Convention Centre, and Island officials are urging fans to make hotel reservations now.

On Nov. 27, the Round three lineup will feature Bethune-Cookman University vs. Longwood University (noon); the University of Tennessee -- Chattanooga vs. the University of Texas-Pan American (2:30 p.m.); Mississippi State University vs. the University of Richmond (5 p.m.); and the University of Missouri-Columbia vs. Old Dominion University (7 p.m.). Round four games will be played on Nov. 28 at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tournament passes are limited and can be ordered through the South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site at www.sopadre.com, or through the Convention Centre Box Office at (888) 774-8587.

Rounds one and two will be played at the University of Missouri, the University of Richmond, Old Dominion University and Mississippi State University. The final two rounds of the tournament will be played Friday, Nov. 27 and Saturday, Nov. 28 at the South Padre Island Convention Centre on beautiful South Padre Island.

Artists, craftsmen & local businesses will have their wares in an open market setting! Music, food & fun!
